An expanding underground gold mine required the construction of a new ventilation raise through fractured, water-bearing rock conditions.
Working in conjunction with a diamond drilling contractor to drill perimeter holes parallel to the alignment of the planned raise, MME Multiurethanes supplied cement grouting equipment and experienced personnel for cement grouting work to fill open fractures prior to drilling the pilot hole and reaming of the ventilation raise to the final diameter.
The cement grouting equipment provided consisted of inflatable borehole packers, electromagnetic flowmeters, progressive cavity pumps, paddle grout mixers, and water supply equipment.
